Unexpected Visitors

Last night and this morning we had a house guest!  It is fitting to end the year with this.....
We escorted him out of the house.

Winding down another Season

We are getting ready to head back to Canada tomorrow.  This has been a year filled with many interesting and great adventures.

It ended with a baptism service in the Caribbean Sea.  Twenty-one people were baptized and most of them were young people.
The cow didn't get baptized! He was a spectator.

Prison Ministry

We visited the jail at Petit Goave today.  We took some food and toiletries. We also sang and prayed and share from the Gospel of John.  Picture taking is not allowed at the prison, but this is a 'googled' picture of the jail.  It is actually as it looks!
After this, we visited the youth prison - it is not much better.  Haiti is one of the worst countries in the world to end up in jail.  Please pray....

The Goat Farm Project Moving Forward

The Goat Farm has been cultivated and fencing is going up for the various grasses that will be planted for the goats.  It is awaiting the installation of an irrigation system so it can be ready for the arrival of goats in the coming months.

Keith's New Toy

Keith has a new bike, but apparently hasn't figured out where to park it yet!
Big toys for big boys!

Mechanic Shop

This is a great day for our mechanic, Yvon!  For the first time, he is using the
hydraulic hoist in the Mechanic's Shop so he can do some repairs on the Kia.

Time to Blog Again

We haven't posted for a few weeks.  This has been a down time in our schedule -- we have had time to relax, visit in the community, chat and laugh with the other mid-termers, and we went to Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic by bus from Port au Prince for 5 days.  It was a great time of exploring the old colonial part of the city and relaxation.

So, this week, we are preparing for guests speakers and a few other individuals to arrive next week for the annual Youth Conference.  It is a conference for youth and youth pastors and leaders from as far away as Port au Prince and Petit Goave.

Once April arrives, we will go into high gear as we will have six weeks of teams and individuals here. It will be full of activity and energy!

Moving the Children's Village Forward

We have had to great teams here from Alberta and Montana.  They worked hard on the two duplexes towards bringing them to completion.  When you step onto the property, it feels alive with energy and the presence of God.
