Labadee

On the north shore of Haiti, near the city of Cap Haitien, the Royal Caribbean cruise lines leases land to accommodate their cruise guests for a port of call.  This is an exclusive area - fully gated.  This area is not at all like the rest of Haiti.  There are many shops restaurants, bars, zip lining, a mountain side roller coaster, seadoos, and lots more.

Cap Haitien

This is the Citadel outside of Cap Haitien built in the early 1800's for wartime protection.

On top of the world - we're higher than the mountain tops!
The ocean is in the far background.

Many, many people live high in the mountains - this home was on the trek up to the Citadel.

The palace of King Christophe from the early 1800's - close to the Citadel.

The rising of the full moon through the palace window.

Laundry Day

Marilyn hanging out the laundry.
We enjoy the luxury of a washing machine here, but we rely on the hot sun to dry our clothes. They dry in no time in the morning sun!

Homework!

This was the sight this morning as a group of students from the construction class (being offered at the Technical school) were on the roof of the school constructing a 'wall' to practice what they have been learning in the class room.
